Baseball is kicking in this week with TAMIU Baseball. It is a NCAA Division II with 1/3 of their team in
2012 being former Laredo High School baseball prospects in their program. Three new rookies join
the Baseball Dustdevils Lalo Gonzalez, Mark Mitchel and Fernando Garza start their freshman year
playing at the next level. They have a group of pitchers we have seen in practice about 11 of them
that are good. They have their first 6 games here in Laredo. In Softball their Dust devil team have
several Laredo former players in their mix and are the defending conference champions.
Thei golf full of Laredo former golfers kicks in their first tournament here in Laredo on Feb 13 and
14 at the Country Club. They have two new freshman from Laredo United on the ladies side.
