"Jumbo Tron Ready To Go For UISD At SAC"

Superintendent Bobby Santos and AD Bobby Cruz along with operators were busy Monday
afternoon getting the Jumbo Tron ready for Thursdays first high school football game at SAC.

We we first broke the news in Laredo,Texas that SAC was getting a modern Jumbo Tron  in July
and we took the first pictures of the assembly of the Tron little did we figure it would go so smooth
to get the operation going.

Speaking with both the UISD Superintendent Santos and AD Crus they were pleased with the ability
and modern abilities of the Jumbo Tron.  Stacey King UISD who over sees the development all
technology for UISD was giving the final run through of the software that run the HD effect the
largest screen in South Texas on a Jumbo Tron.

Having a practice at SAC for the run through were the Wolves of LBJ. Who were going through their
workouts as the crews adjusted the location of the HD cameras and final wireless tune ups. IT
worked out great for everyone . The Wolves got to practice on the SAC carpet and the Jumbo Tron
crew went from simple views to complicated mixes of different camera angles seen in the replays
on the big giant screen.

It did not take long for Mr. Alva and the crew inside the control room located in the building on the
southeast corner of SAC too fine tune the effects they can use to show case the video capability fo
the Jumbo Tron.

UISD Technology department Stacy King was able to explain how the switching works from the
control room to both the Superintendent and the AD.  Final what "if's" were being discussed in case
weather plays a factor this weekend. They have back up plans King was explaining the cameras
are set on different locations and if need be will depend on the center cameras if the weather gets a
bit rough.

Speaking with AD Cruz all the ads for the Jumbo tron are in their final preparation and have sold out
the first batch of commercials that will be playing during the games and events at SAC on the
Jumbo Tron.

AD Cruz went on to say that there is one group that have paid three years ahead to be on the ads on
the Jumbo Tron. A hit with advertisers considering the number of fans that may see the ads on the
Jumbo Tron. Something that Coach Cruz was anticipating and  that it would generate income for
the school district. The funds Superintendent Santos went on to say "will be going to the general
funds since the original funds were used from the general funds to purchase the software and
hardware for the Jumbo Tron."

The crew that will run the Jumbo Tron are all professional camera operators and have all worked
for the Laredo Bucks running their camera and Jumbo Tron at the LEC.  Students are going to be
added to adjust for training during the first year and should be in place this fall. Something the
board of directors and Superintendent Santos wanted from the beginning at UISD.

The Jumbo Tron is ready let the games begin one at a time. SAC is now well dressed with the up to
date stuff and with the latest technology available for stadiums in South Texas.

Just returning this Saturday from covering the Steele vs Madison national televised high school
game at HEROS Stadium in San Antonio . The Jumbo Tron at SAC is much bigger in screen size
and has the same format as the one on Heros Jumbo Tron. SAC's is just bigger and better.

The only difference is the HERO's stadium has some ads around the Tron while the Jumbo Tron at
SAC will use the high tech video capabilities to show case the ads . A much better format for
advertisers since flash is what attracts.

Seen below are the two Jumbo Trons the one on the left is the one taken Saturday at HEROS
Stadium and the one on the right is the SAC's Tron.
Both Superintendent Santos and AD Cruz said that the process for the Jumbo Tron started four
years ago and now that it is here both were content it will be one of the main features of the vast
Student Activity Center UISD has to offer in South Texas.

The crews are ready the technology group at UISD are ready. Sit back take a load off your feet and
enjoy the modern Sports Complex at SAC one video at a time.

See you at the games.
