2010 August Laredo Nixon Mustangs Scrimmage Corpus Christie Miller and La Joya Juarez  in La Joya
Texas.

Laredo Nixon went at it in La Joya Texas and won one scrimmage and tied the second . They whipped
Corpus Christie Miller 7-0 on two quarters. They went on to tie La Joya Juarez with their second string in
place the second half of the scrimmage and resulted in a 0-0 game. The Mustang herd had a last second
chance to win the game with a 30 yard field goal but it went just wide left as the 30 MPH wind hooked it at
the end.

Over all the Mustang defense stood it's ground against two very different offenses they faced. Miller was
quick and fast at the key positions and La Joya was big and strong on the other. WHile the offense
managed a score on a 22 yard TD pass the Mustangs remained scoreless in the second game against La
Joya Juarez Lincoln.

The defense with few timely turn overs kept the Miller crew out of the end zone all scrimmage long. They
looked better each series they were in .  Both teams they faced were running teams which is what the
Mustangs will face in their first four games in 2010. They will face their first passing team on their fifth
game against Alexander. That should be a good game.
