Today the Laredo Bucks of the CHL announced that the hockey club has a
new majority owner, and he is Gustavo Hernandez with Lrd Sports
Ventures.
Gustavo is a Laredo Martin High School graduate and A Texas A&M
International Graduate. Hernandez is a business owner in different
business including private tax and accounting firm all in Laredo,Texas.
One of the reasons the majority ownership came available was the Glenn
Hart businesses have been requiring a tremendous amount of his personal
involvement outside Laredo,Texas. Combined with Hernandez getting
more businesses operating in the Laredo area was a perfect match.
Rumors had be circulating in the sports world in Laredo for several weeks
as both parties were deeply involved in getting this done. WHEN FINALLY
the legal eagles finally had the T's and the I's crossed and dotted both
groups worked out details and Gustavo Hernandez a TIGER from Laredo
Martin High School is now the majority owner of the Laredo Bucks a hockey
club operating in Laredo and playing in the Central Hockey League.
Mr. Hernandez as well has been a season ticket holder since 2002 and is
very familiar with the operation of the club and in the press conference Mr.
Hernandez his Lrd Sports Ventures group will be working with the current
management team in sorting the future plans for the Laredo Bucks.
Speaking with Mr. Hernandez at the press conference The Sports Wire
asked about the BUCKS future in Laredo. Hernandez said "we are working
on getting more families and fans to come out more to see the Bucks.
There appears to be no interest in changing head coach as Mr. Hernandez
said in the press conference he is looking forward to working with head
Coach Dube who is a great coach end of quote.
With a local flair in the ownership of the Bucks only means there will be
more of effort to make the Bucks the highest attended hockey team in the
CHL.
The Bucks organization and Mr. Hernandez acknowledged the current
Season ticket holders and major cooperate sponsors for their continual
